Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed hope that cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan will expand.
Following a meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov on Monday, Zarif told reporters, “We discussed economic, political and cultural relations as well as the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries. We also conferred on regional cooperation especially peace in Afghanistan”.
He expressed hope that cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan will expand.
“Iran can provide transit route for Uzbekistan to access global markets and also international waters. Iran and Uzbekistan enjoy high potentials in different areas and the age-old historical ties between the two countries can further expand the preliminaries for friendship between Iran and Uzbekistan,” Zarif went on to say.
