good news iran: Volume of trades rises by 13% in metals, minerals

Tehran (ISNA) – Within the week ending on July 2nd, 2021, the IME witnessed trade of 1,012,000 tonnes of commodities worth almost 412 million USD, with a noticeable growth of 13% in volume of trades in its metals and minerals trading platform.

According to a report by the IME’s international affairs and PR, the exchange sold on its metal and minerals trading platform 665,862 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 233 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 203,700 tonnes of steel, 9,985 tonnes of copper, 10,940 tonnes of aluminum, 27 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 250 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 550 tonnes of zinc, 389,560 tonnes of cement, 5 kg of gold bars, 11,000 tonnes of sponge iron and 40,000 tonnes of iron ore.

Furthermore, the IME saw trade of 345,056 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 180 million USD on its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

The IME’s customers purchased on this floor  92,150 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 91,530 tonnes of bitumen, 94,801 tonnes of polymeric products, 36,934 tonnes of chemicals, 27,000 tonnes of lube cut, 3,577 tonnes of base oil, 110 tonnes of argon, 120 tonnes of sulfur and 205 tonnes of insulation.

It’s worth noting that the exchange also played host to trading 906 tonnes of various types of commodities on its side market.
