Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s President-elect Ebrahim Raisi stressed that the country has proved to be a reliable friend and partner.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Tehran.
During the meeting, Raisi said, “Iran and Qatar are religious brothers and regional partners. Tehran attaches special importance to relations with Doha and Iran’s future administration’s foreign policy priority will be its neighboring countries”.
Stressing that the root cause of the regional insecurity should be looked at from outside, Raisi stated, “The solution to restoring sustainable security and regional stability is the cooperation among regional countries based on mutual trust and the rejection of foreign interference in the region”.
Qatari foreign minister, for his part, said, “Qatar is seeking cooperation with Iran to strengthen bilateral relations and to ensure regional security”.
