good news iran: Iranian documentary “Holy Bread” invited to DMZ Docs

 Iranian documentary “Holy Bread” directed by late Rahim Zabihi will be screened at the 13th edition of DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, also known as DMZ Docs in South Korea.

In its eighth international presence, “Holy Bread” will be screened at the Asian Competition section of the event.

In the section, the Iranian documentary will compete with other films from Japan, Philippines, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India.

The documentary highlights the dangerous work of Kurdish Kulbars.

Kulbars are workers who transport heavy goods on foot across the Iranian border passing through rocky, steep and slippery mountainous pathways to make a living to support their families.

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) is a Korean film festival for documentaries, jointly presented by Paju and Goyang in Gyeonggi Province. Launched in 2009, it is held annually for seven days in September/October less than twenty kilometers from the Korean Demilitarized Zone, and showcases films dealing with “peace, coexistence and reconciliation.

The 13th DMZ Docs will take place on 9th-16th September 2021. It is the largest festival of its kind in Asia, aiming to introduce outstanding documentaries as well as to support talented filmmakers and promising projects to be discovered by a wider audience.
