Commodities traded on IME exceeds 2 million tonnes

Tehran (ISNA) – Within the week ending on January 27, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 2,082,446 tonnes of commodities and 2,623 vehicles with a total trading value of nearly 808 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME’s International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 1,631,322 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 540 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 895,287 tonnes of cement, 325,000 tonnes of iron ore, 322,180 tonnes of steel, 47,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 21,950 tonnes of zinc, 10,825 tonnes of aluminum, 9,330 tonnes of copper, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 2 kg of gold bars and 2,623 vehicles.

Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 448,507 tonnes of commodities worth nearly 264 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 146,890 tonnes of bitumen, 99,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 111,231 tonnes of polymeric products, 45,500 tonnes of lube cut, 41,083 tonnes of chemicals, 900 tonnes of sulfur, 3,892 tonnes of base oil and 500 tonnes of petroleum products.

The IME also traded within the same week 2,616 tonnes of commodities on its side market.
