Old neighborhoods represent the cultural and historical identity of cities, so they should be renovated and protected from being destroyed.
Unfortunately, Bagh Sheikh Neighborhood is among the vulnerable areas of Ahvaz lacking a proper sewage system, which creates problems for people during wet seasons.
The neighborhood has a dense urban texture with narrow streets and alleys.
Many old buildings of the Bagh Sheikh Neighborhood have been destroyed in recent years, and the remaining old structures have been abandoned.
