good news iran: Eslami describes IAEA- AEOI talks as “constructive”

The new head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami described his meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi as “constructive”, stressing that Grossi is scheduled to travel to Tehran in the near future.

Speaking at a joint Press conference with Rafael Grossi, Eslami said, “We had constructive negotiations. There are essentially technical issues between the two sides. We agreed to participate in the IAEA General Conference and to continue our negotiations on the sidelines of the event”.

“The Director-General of the Agency is scheduled to travel to Tehran in the near future to hold talks with the authorities on replacement of the memory cards of the cameras,” he added.

“The mutual trust between Iran and the IAEA is of importance for us,” Eslami emphasized.

Rafael Grossi, for his part, said, “Visiting Iran was important to me as it took place after the new government takes office. This means that Iran and the IAEA should expand their cooperation”.

“”In less than two weeks, the IAEA General Conference will be held and this is one of the most important events in the world. I was glad to hear that Mr. Eslami is leading the Iranian delegation and we agreed to continue negotiations in Vienna. Then, I will return to Iran for high-level talks with Iranian officials,” he added.
