Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that Baku is willing to develop relations with Tehran due to the many commonalities between the two countries in different fields.
“We are interested in developing relations with Iran and there is a lot of cooperation between the two countries,” he said.
Regarding the future of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov stated, “I can say that due to the many commonalities between the two countries, there are many plans for bilateral cooperation. I am sure that we can develop the good relations of the past on the basis of good neighborliness”.
Emphasizing the continuation of diplomatic negotiations between the officials of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, he said, “We are pleased with the recent formal and informal diplomatic conversations, and with the telephone conversations of my colleague Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, we believe that some issues can be resolved”.
“Disagreements between all countries are possible and no country is an exception to this rule and may even be between neighboring countries, but our close relations and neighborhood with Iran have shown that some of these differences can be resolved through dialogue,” the Azeri foreign minister added.
