Grossi satisfied with cooperation with Iran: AEOI chief

Tehran (ISNA) – The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said that relations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are underway.

Discussing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Mohammad Eslami declared, “The Agency is not responsible for talks, but this is the responsibility of the P5+1 countries. The relations are based on NPT and the safeguard issues. Also, the observations are underway and they have not been disrupted”.

“The Director-General of IAEA Rafael Grossi has expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with Iran, but it is noteworthy to mention that the Agency is not a relevant party for dialogue through the process of JCPOA,” he added.

When asked about if sanctions are not lifted, what will happen, Eslami said, “This is another issue. The US has withdrawn from JCPOA. Talks are underway to return America to the JCPOA, but you should talk with Foreign Ministry’s officials regarding this case”.
