good news iran: IME witnesses growth in both volume, value of trades

Tehran (ISNA) – Within the week ending on May, 14, 2021, the IME witnessed trade of 631,879 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 400 million USD, showing 2% and 4% of growth in volume and value of trades respectively.

According to a report by the IME’s international affairs and PR, the exchange sold on its mineral and industrial trading floor 232,884 tonnes of commodities worth almost 207 million USD.

On this floor there were 191,824 tonnes of steel, 6,880 tonnes of copper, 660 tonnes of aluminum, 120 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 33,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate, 400 tonnes of coke and 3kg of gold bars traded.

The next trading floor was the IME’s oil and petrochemical with 396,578 tonnes of commodities sold on it, valued at more than 193 million USD.

Items traded here were 203,300 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 64,162 tonnes of bitumen, 55,680 tonnes of polymeric products, 28,984 tonnes of chemicals, 40,500 tonnes of lube cut, 1,927 tonnes of base oil, 150 tonnes of insulation, 500 tonnes of slop wax, 80 tonnes of argon and 1,000 tonnes of sulfur.

Also, on its side market, the IME saw trade of 2,417 tonnes of various commodities.
