Latest condition of Friendship Dam

Tehran (ISNA) – “Friendship Dam” is a joint project between Iran and Turkmenistan that was opened in 2005 between the border of the two countries.
The dam is the largest reservoir in the east of the country and was built on the Hariroud River.
Currently, the volume of water in Friendship Dam is 156 million cubic meters, which is 13% of its capacity, and the dam is drying up.
Besides, no water flow has entered the dam’s Lake through Afghanistan during the last two months.
