Iran, Turkmenistan stress need for developing, strengthening bilateral relations

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian deputy Foreign Minister for legal and international affairs, Reza Najafi held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Raşit Meredow on Sunday.

During the meeting, Najafi submitted Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s letter of invitation to Raşit Meredow to visit Tehran.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the international summit entitled “Dialogue: Guarantee for Peace” in Ashgabat.

Stressing on the importance of maintaining and developing relations with neighboring countries as the main priority of Iran’s foreign policy in the 13th government, Najafi expressed hope that the process of cooperation between the two friendly countries will continue in international and regional forums.

Raşit Meredow, for his part, emphasized the need for developing bilateral cooperation, reviewed the various issues in the relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, and expressed his country’s readiness to strengthening the bilateral relations.
