Iran’s FM: We ready to hold ministerial meetings with states of the Persian Gulf

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed on Mondat that for Iran the concept of neighborhood is the pivot on which foreign policy revolves.

Speaking at the third Tehran Dialogue Forum, hosted by the Center for Political and International Studies of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian went on to say, “We have paid attention to establishing trust and boosting friendship in foreign policy with all our strength”.

Regarding Iran’s stance about the significance of security in the region and the role of neighboring countries to ensure security, Iranian Foreign Minister said, “We are ready to hold joint meetings of foreign and defense ministers between Iran, states of the Persian Gulf and other neighbors”.

Referring to Ukraine’s crisis, he noted, “We are opposed to war and the crisis should be solved through dialogue. We should not have a one-dimension perspective toward this crisis so the roots of the crisis should be analyzed. In Ukraine’s crisis, Europe is paying the costs of America’s policy that is far from the current crisis”.

In the light of the sanctions removal talks, Amir-Abdollahian said, “The discussions are underway with the EU Foreign Policy Chief. Also, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency had constructive discussions with my colleagues yesterday at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran”.

He referred to China and its joint statement signed by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and noted, “We have lodged a complaint to Chinese side through diplomatic channels”.
