Tehran, Ankara declare readiness for holding 8th high commission of bilateral ties

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about the upcoming visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Ankara, emphasizing the importance of the visit and declaring readiness for holding the 8th high commission of bilateral ties during President Raisi’s trip to Türkiye.

The Iranian foreign minister said the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared for making efforts aimed at reaching the target ceiling of bilateral trade with Türkiye.

The Turkish president also said his country is ready to boost ties with Iran. Erdogan voiced hope that Türkiye will host the Iranian president in the near future.

Iran’s foreign minister and Türkiye’s president further underlined the significance of the 3+3 meeting over the Caucasus issues, the three-way meeting of Iran, Türkiye and Iraq and the trilateral meeting of Iran, Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

Amir-Abdollahian expressed pleasure with the start of the process between Ankara and Damascus. He expressed hope that this process will result in peace and stability between Türkiye and Syria.

Erdogan described the Tehran-Ankara ties as important and excellent. He then referred to Iran’s role in the Astana peace talks, saying Tehran can definitely be of effective help to new approaches.

Cooperation between Iran and Türkiye in the fields of energy, transportation, culture, tourism, trade, science and technology, and communications was another issue discussed by Amir-Abdolalhain and Erdogan. The two sides stressed that there are no limits to the expansion of ties between the Turkish and Iranian nations and governments in those fields.
