Iran, Japan hold 12th joint consular commission
Tehran (ISNA) – The 12th joint consular commission of Iran and Japan was held in Tehran.
The officials of the consular departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran and Japan presided over the meeting, which was also attended by the representatives of consular, immigration, justice and international police departments of the two countries.
The participants in the session discussed the consular issues of Iran and Japan including cooperation between the two countries in fields of national affairs, support for citizens of both sides, student cooperation, judicial agreements, visa issues and immigration affairs as well as joint bilateral cooperation in fighting against illegal migration, crimes and drug trafficking, and extradition of convicts.
Iran and Japan have long-standing relations and about 15000 Iranian compatriots live in that country.
