Sadeh Festival in Kerman, Yazd

Tehran (ISNA) – People of Kerman and Yazd held the ancient festival of Sadeh on Monday night, January 30.

Sadeh is an ancient mid-winter festival dating back to Iran’s pre-Islamic past to honor fire and defeat the forces of darkness, frost, and cold.

Zoroastrians celebrate the Sadeh 50 days before the Persian new year, known as “Nowruz”.
