Iran believing in self-restraint, avoiding haste regarding Azerbaijani Embassy incident

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani stressed that the Islamic Republic believed in self-restraint and avoiding haste regarding the incident at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at a weekly press conference on Monday, Nasser Kanaani told reporters, “According to investigations, the incident at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran was a personal move, and the police and judicial forces are continuing to investigate its dimensions more closely”.

“Unfortunately, after this incident, the government of Azerbaijan decided to suspend the activities of its embassy in Tehran. But, Iran believes in self-restraint and avoiding haste regarding this tragic incident,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Kanaani announced that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is planning to visit Beijing, but no exact dates have been determined yet.
