2.4 million tonnes of commodities changed hands on IME

Tehran (ISNA) – Within the week ending on February 10, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 2,420,018 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 757 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME’s International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,041,442 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 527 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,002,530 tonnes of cement, 585,000 tonnes of iron ore, 399,552 tonnes of steel, 38,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 10,190 tonnes of aluminum, 6,120 tonnes of copper, 1,100 tonnes of zinc and 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate.

Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 373,730 tonnes of commodities worth more than 224 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 102,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 101,837 tonnes of polymeric products, 67,905 tonnes of bitumen, 51,000 tonnes of lube cut, 36,920 tonnes of chemicals, 11,020 tonnes of sulfur, 3,070 tonnes of base oil, 500 tonnes of petroleum products and 190 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 4,845 tonnes of commodities on its side market.
