Bagheri calls for further political consultations between Iran, Kuwait

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Ali Bagheri met with Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mansur Ibad al-Otaybi in Tehran during which they discussed issues of mutual interest as well as regional and international cooperation and cooperation between the two countries in world bodies.

Bagheri pointed to extensive efforts aimed at boosting bilateral ties within the framework of the policy of President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration toward expanding relations with neighbors.

He said Iran will keep making such efforts across all political, economic, consular and cultural fields.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister further spoke about good relations between Iran and Kuwait and called for political consultations in this regard and speeding up the implementation of bilateral agreements.

Kuwait’s deputy foreign minister also pointed to historical bonds between Iran and Kuwait and hailed the policy of neighborliness of President Raisi.

Otaybi expressed hope that this policy will help expand bilateral and regional cooperation and improve regional stability and security.

He also welcomed the recent agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic ties and reopen their embassies.
