good news iran: Iran’s National Library unveils tokenized manuscript preservation platform

In the unveiling ceremony, Ashraf Boroujerdi, the Director of the National Library of Iran, said that the platform named Ganjeman (our treasure) which is aimed at digitalization and tokenization of written heritage has been launched with the purpose of encouraging people who privately own manuscripts to share them with public, IRNA reported.

Stating that there are only 40,000 manuscripts kept in the National Library of Iran, Ms. Boroujerdi explained that thousands of manuscripts were also held by the Library of Astan Quds Razavi in Mashad, Ayatollah Marashi Najafi Library in Qom and many private holders which should better be shared with the public.

The National Library of Iran has partnered with Yekta Koknus Pars (YKP), a blockchain network host, to launch the platform as a basis for outsourcing the funding of manuscript preservation projects.

Yekta Kuknos Pars, an Iranian distributed IT and FinTech company, is a founding host of Kuknos network, the first and greatest entrusted ledger technology infrastructure in Iran.

Ganjeman project is the first and largest social responsibility project in Iran which is expected to bear a great transition in written heritage, making Iran a pioneering country in non-fungible tokens (NFT) space and tokenization of manuscripts.
