Two Iranian films to attend Karlovy Vary Int’l Film Festival
Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian feature films “Empty Nets” directed by Behrooz Karamizade and “Dark Matter” by Karim Lakzadeh will participate in Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2023.
“Empty Nets”, a love story set in a small fishing village in contemporary Iran, is in the running for the festival’s Crystal Globe honor for best competition film. Also, “Dark Matter” will participate in Proxima Competition of the festival.
“Dark Matter”, a joint production of Iran and Germany, narrates the story of an actor and actress who are failed in testing, so they make a decision to produce their own film.
The 57th edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will run from June 30 – July 8 in Czech Republic.
Each year, the Karlovy Vary IFF presents about 200 films from around the world. In addition to the regular program sections showcasing works by the world’s leading filmmakers and by promising new creative talents, festival visitors can also look forward to watching films as part of retrospectives and specialized sections.
