Iranian FM: Comprehensive plan of strategic cooperation to be signed between Iran, Oman

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that a comprehensive plan of strategic cooperation would be signed in the near future between Iran and Oman.

Following the Sultan of Oman’s official trip to Tehran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian declared during the joint press conference with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, “Undoubtedly, Oman has a prominent special position in Iranian foreign policy”.

He said that Oman has always played a positive constructive role in regional and international issues, as adding, “Talks between both countries’ Presidents in Tehran concentrated on the expansion of political, trade, cultural and security interactions”.

Iranian Foreign Minister went on to say, “Regarding Iranian President’s official trip to Muscat in the previous year, 13 documents were signed between Iran and Oman which have led to double enhancement of trade volume between both countries”.

“Four more documents were signed during the latest meeting between the Iranian and Omani top officials which concentrate on areas such as energy, investment, free zones and industrial cooperation,” he added.

Amir-Abdollahian concluded, “We want to sign a comprehensive plan of strategic cooperation in the near future with the help of my own counterpart Mr. Albusaidi”.
