Burkina Faso first deputy FM meets with Iranian FM
Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has held talks with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso Issa Buro, touching on the recent developments in the relations of the two countries and exchanges of delegations, saying “The Islamic Republic of Iran has put expansion of ties with African countries on its agenda.”
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister welcomed expansion of bilateral ties and described the meeting of the joint commission in Burkina Faso in the near future as a good opportunity to adjust relations across economic, trade, scientific and educational sectors.
Issa Buro also said he was pleased to visit Tehran and described the purpose of the visit as the examination of areas of mutual interest between the two countries, especially in the field of economy.
He also underlined the decision of the government of Burkina Faso to open an embassy in Tehran and send an ambassador, adding that given the will of the two sides to expand their relations and the existing engineering capabilities and advances of Iran, the necessary ground exists to deepen and expand relations across all sectors.
