Tehran, Baku call for expansion of economic relations

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development during a call with deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan stressed on expansion of economic ties between the two countries, including finishing the International North–South Transport Corridor.

During a phone call with Azerbaijan’s deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Mehrdad Bazrpash, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed on lunching projects on the agenda of Iran-Azerbaijan joint committee.

Bazrpash emphasized the need to finish the strategic International North–South Transport Corridor, expressing hope that political ties between the two countries will be amended as soon as possible.

Azerbaijan’s deputy prime minister congratulated Bazrpash on Eid al-Adha in advance and expressed contentment for enhancement of Tehran-Baku ties, calling for development of economic cooperation.

According to statement released by Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the two officials also discussed other areas of economic reoperation such as transportation, transit, water, energy, etc.
