Hamid Neeli Appointed as Director General of Performing Arts
Hamid Neeli Ahmadabadi has been appointed as the new Director General of Performing Arts by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
According to goodnewsagency,, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, officially appointed Hamid Neeli Ahmadabadi as the Director General of Performing Arts.
In his appointment letter, the minister cited Neeli’s background, expertise, and revolutionary spirit, and outlined several key responsibilities for his tenure, including:
- Identifying and nurturing theatrical talent across the country
- Promoting classical Persian literature and national heroes through stage performances
- Upholding moral, religious, revolutionary, national, and family values in theatrical works
- Enhancing the artistic quality and benchmarks of the performing arts
- Supporting committed playwrights and overseeing translations of foreign plays
- Honoring and supporting senior and veteran artists
- Paying special attention to children’s and youth theater and promoting educational and value-based performances
- Strengthening regional and local performing arts capacities
- Encouraging the portrayal of national, religious, and revolutionary concepts in productions, including the rich and complex history of contemporary Iran and the Islamic Revolution
The minister also expressed appreciation for the valuable efforts of Kazem Nazari, the previous Director General of Performing Arts.
Hamid Neeli has previously held several key roles, including Director of Iranshahr Theater, Director of the Iranian Performing Arts Association, Director of the Theater of Revolution and Sacred Defense Association, Secretary of the 17th Resistance Theater Festival, and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Public Culture Council. He also has extensive experience as a producer of stage and television productions.
