Iran mobile operator to unveil AI services in Dubai tech show

“As one of the largest mobile phone operators in the Middle East, we aim to play a more crucial role in international markets,” said Hamed Hakkakan, MCI’s head of PR, on Monday.

More than 6,000 companies and over 170,000 attendees from 170 countries are expected to participate in GITEX’s 43rd edition this year. The four-day event is being held in the Dubai World Trade Center and will wrap up on October 20.

Hakkakan said the Mobile Communications Company of Iran would put on display its latest achievements on AI, including hardware and software, during the GITEX show.

Among the AI projects set to be on show in the exhibition will be MCI’s Smart Logistics and Connected Car, he said, adding that the company would seek to use the GITEX as an opportunity to work out joint investment projects with other technology firms.

“We are looking for more cooperation opportunities in regional and international markets. We are open to new ideas and are ready to invest in them,” said Hakkakan.

The MCI has a large booth in the exhibition’s main hall this year where it invites visitors to have a virtual tour of Iran through the company’s video-mapping services.

The company will also draw lots everyday during the event to offer winners free tickets for travel to Iran, Hakkakan said.
