Iranian, Indian chess grandmasters share the spoils in Qatar
In the sixth round of the competition, Maghsoodloo, with a rating of 2707, drew with his Indian opponent Murali Karthikeyan with a rating of 2611 and stood in ninth place.
Previously, the Iranian chess player beat his rivals from Germany Raphael Lagunow, Kazakhstan Alisher Suleymenov, and the UAE A.R. Saleh Salem in the sporting event.
Magnus Carlsen, the world’s number one chess player, Nakamura and Anish Giri are among the most famous chess players in the competition.
The Qatar Masters 2023 is a 9-round Swiss, underway in Doha, Qatar from October 11-20.
