Starlink obliged to coop. with Iran on satellite internet

Iran’s Information and Communications Technology Ministery made the announcement on Saturday, saying that in the last meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the “SpaceX” company was obliged to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide its satellite internet services.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by American aerospace company SpaceX, providing coverage to over 60 countries.

According to the ICT statement, in the meeting, ITU, SpaceX and the responsible countries were obliged to urgently conform their actions to Iran’s internal rules and to obtain a license to operate in Iran through the regulatory authorities of this country.

Accordingly, an important step was taken to legalize the activity of Starlink in Iran, so that it is possible for the people to use this service legally.
