Persepolis coach calls match against Al Duhail glorious day

The Iranian giants will host Al Duhail in Group E of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

“We know that how strong Al Duhail are but we will have a great day with our fans in our home. The fans will push us forward against Al Duhail,” Golmohammadi said.

With Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia having already confirmed the Group E top spot, the only route open for Persepolis is by finishing among the three best second-placed teams from the West Zone.

“We just think about winning the match. Regardless of the other results, we are determined to win the match. It will be a glorious day for our fans,” he added.

Philippe Coutinho, Edmilson Junior and Nelson Semedo will be missing the match due to the injury. Golmohammadi said that Persepolis will also play without several key players.

“Persepolis will have a difficult task against Al Duhail because they are a star-studded team. I hope we can beat them in front of our supporters,” the Persepolis coach concluded.
