Interior Minister Denies Closure of Parks and Recreational Areas on Nature Day

Ahmad Vahidi, Iran’s Minister of Interior, dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding the closure of parks and recreational areas on Sizdah Bedar (Nature Day), stressing that no such decision has been made by the Ministry.

According to Good News Agency, Vahidi posted a message on his personal account on the social media platform “X,” noting the coincidence of Nature Day with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS). He wrote: “The understanding people of Iran have always respected the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan. Nowruz and Islamic traditions are rooted in shared values. No decision has been made by the Ministry of Interior to close parks on this day. We must remain vigilant against the enemies’ schemes.”

This clarification comes in response to claims made on social media on Saturday, April 1, stating that the Ministry of Interior had ordered the closure of parks and public spaces on Sizdah Bedar until one hour before sunset. The ministry has officially denied these reports.
