West wants Arab nations to remain wary towards Iran: Lavrov

“Many would like to preserve the Arab countries of the [Persian] Gulf’s wary attitude towards Iran. These are the West’s games,” he said in an interview for the ‘Bridges to the East’ project, according to TASS.

“The Britons have always been known for their ‘divide and conquer’ principle,” he said. “Sadly, but some of our Western colleagues are still guided by colonial and neo-colonial habits.”

The Russian diplomat also said that “Tehran is interested in resuming the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview for the ‘Bridges to the East’ project.

When asked whether the resumption of full-scale negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program is possible, Lavrov emphasized that “Iran is interested in them.”

“Since January, Iran has been consistently speaking in favor of negotiations, showing flexible and creative approaches,” the minister said.
