Iran ranks among world’s top 5 countries in eye stem cell

Head of the Iranian Ophthalmology Association Hamed Ghassemi revealed the news on Wednesday, emphasizing, “The treatment is used for patients with severe eye injuries caused by chemical and thermal burns.”

Regarding the costs and success degree of eye stem cell transplants in the country, he stated that costs are fully covered by the government, and the procedure has a success rate of over 85 percent.
