good news iran: Switzerland, Slovakia to host Iranian film “The Wasteland”

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian film “The Wasteland” directed by Ahmad Bahrami will be screened at the Gässli Film Festival in Basel, Switzerland and the Art Film Festival in Kosice, Slovakia.

The 10th edition of the Gässli Film Festival will be held from June 16-21, 2021 in Basel and the Iranian film “The Wasteland” will be screened at the international competition section.

“The Deer” directed by Masoud Kimiai and “Careless Crime” by Shahram Mokri are the other representatives of Iran’s cinema at the event.

Meanwhile, the 28th Art Film Festival will take place in the Slovakian city of Kosice from June 23 to 27 and the Iranian film “The Wasteland” will be screened at the international competition section.

The drama is about Loftollah, a man who lives in a godforsaken land. He is a dutiful messenger between his boss and the destitute inhabitants of a colony that has manufactured bricks as long as anyone can remember.

The Wasteland has been already screened at more than 20 international film festivals such as Venice International Film Festival and Tokyo International Film Festival 2020.
