Iran always welcomes regional dialogue: FM
Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran has always welcomed regional dialogue.
He made the remarks in a joint press conference with Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Sunday followed by a bilateral meeting in Tehran.
“Today, we received messages from the parties to the JCPOA talks through the Qatari foreign minister,” Amir-Abdollahian said.
“The exchanging messages between Iran and Bahrain is underway through a mediator,” he added.
The Iranian top diplomat also stated, “The new round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia is supposed to continue as agreed”.
Qatari foreign minister, for his part, said, “We encourage all parties to the JCPOA to return to the negotiations table”.
“Today, we also consulted about the ways to increase security and to reduce tensions in the region,” he added.
“The Americans gave us a message to convey to Iran, which is related to the nuclear deal, although it may not be directly related to it,” the Qatari top diplomat went on to say.
