Tehran (ISNA) – Sistan-Baluchistan Province of Iran is considered a complete civilization, which has a history of several thousand years.
Every corner of this province boasts historical monuments.
Dahan-e Gholaman is an ancient city located in Zahak County of Sistan-Baluchistan, dating back to the Achaemenid Empire.
It is a vast plain with 100 hectares in extent.
Archaeological excavations of this city have revealed an area with an ancient settlement, buildings, and places of worship.
Dahan-e Gholaman has also been mentioned in Bisotun Inscription and the inscriptions found in the Persepolis, the ancient city of Susa, and the Naqsh-e Rostam.
The city is the largest Achaemenid site in all of eastern Iran.
It was registered on Iran’s National Heritage List in 1931.
