Tehran (ISNA) – Hamed Solhipour in the weight category of 97 kg won a gold medal in 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships underway in Thailand on Saturday.
At the third day of the competitions, Solhipour lifted the 227 kg weights to stand on the podium, receiving the gold medal in the 97-kg category.
In this category, representatives from Iraq and Malaysia ranked second and third respectively.
Amir Jafari in the 65-kg category and Rouhollah Rostami at the under-80kg have already won the gold medals, and Nader Moradi at the under-72kg class has also claimed a silver medal at this competition.
A total of the 60 powerlifters from nine countries across Africa, Asia and Europe have participated in the event.
