Iran, Turkmenistan to expand cooperation in field of energy

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian in a video conference with his Turkmen counterpart Rajab Muradov stressed on the need to expand bilateral relations, especially cooperation in the field of energy.

Pointing to the fact that there is great cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan in terms of transit of commodities and services, and political relations are also developing, Mehrabian said, “Great relations have been established between Iran and Turkmenistan in the field of water and electricity and good projects are being implemented”.

Referring to the long-standing historical and cultural relations between the two countries, Mehrabian stated, “Iran’s relations with Turkmenistan are at a good level and we attach importance to the growth of these relations, especially in the field of water, electricity and gas. We hope that due to the great capacities, the level of relations between the two countries will increase in the future”.

Rajab Muradov, for his part, said, “Iran is our strategic partner and we are keen on developing relations with the Islamic Republic”.
