Iran, Oman FMs confer on bilateral relations, latest developments in region

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian received his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi in Tehran on Saturday.

During the meeting, the two top diplomats conferred on bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region.

Inviting Amir-Abdollahian to travel to Muscat, Omani foreign minister stressed at a joint press conference, “The only way to solve problems and challenges is negotiations and understanding”.

“Oman always adopts the policy of good neighborliness and positive cooperation and supports all efforts that ensure the security and peace of the region,” he said.

“Oman stresses on the importance of cooperation to ensure the security of shipping in the seas and in the region because the safety of commercial and economic movement will ultimately benefit the nations of the region and will serve our partnerships and foreign relations,” Badr al-Busaidi added.

“There are many challenges, crises and disputes but we in Oman believe that the only way to solve these problems and challenges is dialogue and understanding. We should discuss these challenges and find peaceful ways to solve them,” the Omani top diplomat went on to say.
