Caspian Sea shrinking: 630 cubic kilometers of water lost in three decades

Iran’s Meteorological Organization chief warned that the Caspian Sea water level continues to decline, with a new study showing approximately 23,858 square kilometers — about 5.5 percent of the sea’s surface — lost since 1996, along with roughly 630 cubic kilometers of water volume.
