Iranian FM meets with secretary general of D8
Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has, in a meeting with the Developing-8 Organization’s Secretary General Isiaka Imam, described the grouping as a useful regional mechanism.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization’s top diplomats in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent during which Imam presented a report on the performance of the D8.
He also pointed to the effective role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in developments and interactions inside the organization and called for holding a session of the energy ministers of member states thereof.
The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, thanked Imam for the report, saying the Islamic Republic of Iran will fully support the actual and potential activities and cooperation of the D-8.
