Signing MoUs in various fields shows determination of Tehran, Minsk for all-round development of ties: Raisi

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian President described the relations between Iran and Belarus as good and constructive in the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, emphasizing on the use of existing capacities to accelerate the strengthening of relations between the two countries.

Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi held a meeting of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries together with Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus on Monday.

In this meeting, the President expressed satisfaction with the growing trend of the relations between the two countries and said, “The signing of the memoranda of understanding in various fields shows the determination of the two countries for the comprehensive development of relations”.

Raisi described Iran-Belarus interactions as good and constructive in the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and emphasized on using existing capacities to accelerate the strengthening of relations between the two countries.

The President also found the use of the capacity of regional agreements such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union effective in increasing exchanges and economic relations between the two countries and other independent countries.

Ayatollah Raisi also emphasized on the implementation of the agreements between Iran and Belarus until the results are achieved and its economic benefits become tangible for the two nations.

Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, for his part, described the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the advanced countries in the field of civilization and economy, and said, “This is the third time I have visited Iran, and each time I have witnessed the greater determination of the Iranian people to counter the pressures and sanctions and also moving on the path of progress”.

Lukashenko further mentioned the common positions of the two countries in the field of confronting unilateralism and called for greater exchange of the capacities of the two countries in various fields of industry, agriculture, transportation and technology.

The President of Belarus also referred to the slow development of economic cooperation between Iran and Belarus in the past years and praised the acceleration of the development of relations between the two countries in the government of Ayatollah Raisi.

At the end of this meeting, the comprehensive cooperation roadmap and seven cooperation documents in various commercial, transportation, agricultural and cultural fields between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Belarus were signed in the presence of the Presidents of the two countries.
