Iran kurash players bag silver medals in world c’ships

Mahdis Eidivandi, Iran’s female kurash practioner fell short against her rival from Vietnam in the final.

Also in the men’s division, Hamid Rashidi from Irn in the 100 kg weight class, lost to his Uzbek opponent in the final of this competition and won a silver medal.

Meanwhile, “Abolfazl Torabi”, another Iranian practitioner in the +100 kg weight, in his debut in the world championships in the final of this competition, was defeated by his Uzbek opponent and bagged another silver medal for Iran.

The sportswoman ranked second in the weight class of 57kg at the world championship.

Nearly 240 athletes from 50 countries worldwide have participated in the sporting event.

Kurash, an ancient martial art with a rich three-thousand-year history deeply rooted in Central Asia, has transcended geographical boundaries and gained global recognition.
