National Performing Arts Charter and Global Creative Industries City Statute Approved by the Council of Arts

The Council of Arts convened under the chairmanship of Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, where three major initiatives were reviewed and approved: the National Performing Arts Charter, the Statute of the Global City for Creative and Cultural Industries, and the Transformative Plan for Arts Education.

According to Good News Agency The meeting began with a review and incorporation of members’ suggestions into the National Performing Arts Charter, which was subsequently approved and will now be submitted to the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution for final ratification.

Next, the topic of the “Global City for Innovation, Soft Technologies, and Creative and Cultural Industries” was discussed. Minister Esmaeili highlighted the importance of this initiative, describing it as one of the key achievements of the 13th government and a leap forward in alignment with global technological advancements. He expressed hope that Imani Khoshkhoo, appointed as the minister’s special representative, would pursue the project vigorously with inter-agency cooperation and a revolutionary approach.

Imani Khoshkhoo then provided an overview of the project’s development, which originated at the National Park of Soft Sciences and Cultural Industries, affiliated with Jahad-e-Daneshgahi. He explained that following the issuance of the directive on the Global City by the late President Ayatollah Raisi, four specialized working groups were formed to design the statute, determine the location, plan investments, and develop domestic and international relations. The final statute was approved by council members during the meeting.

The third topic discussed was the transformative program for Fine Arts High Schools. After reviewing educational methods and exchanging views, the general framework of the program was approved, with further drafting as a legislative bill scheduled for the next council session.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Esmaeili referred to the approval of key documents such as the National Animation Charter and the Architecture Charter, emphasizing the significant impact these policies would have on cultural development nationwide. He noted that many resolutions of the Cultural High Council stemmed from the groundwork laid by the Council of Arts.

He also invited experts and enthusiasts to share their suggestions and participate in the commemorative programs marking the Arbaeen (40th day) since the martyrdom of President Raisi and his companions, scheduled in Tehran and Mashhad.
