Mexico, Iran discuss parliamentary diplomacy, ways of enhancing cooperation

Tehran (ISNA) – The chairwoman of Mexico-Iran parliamentary friendship group, Lorena Piñón held a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranians’ Affairs Alireza Bikdeli.

The officials, during the meeting, exchanged their views on parliamentary diplomacy and the ways of enhancing cooperation particularly in economic and cultural fields.

Alireza Bikdeli underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties between the countries, while elaborating on foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Member of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies and the chairwoman of Mexico-Iran parliamentary friendship group said, “The ties between the two countries can be improved in the light of parliamentary cooperation and cultural interactions more than ever”.

During the visit to Iran and meeting with Iranian officials, the members of Mexico-Iran parliamentary friendship group also visited Isfahan and Shiraz.
